You’ve cook, cleaned, spent the night out shopping, napped, then shopped some more. You successful elbowed your way through the crowds, securing the best deals out there. You are exhausted and in need of a relaxing refresher and a reward for surviving Thanksgiving and Black Friday 2010.
So before you haul out the holly and begin decorating the tree, take a minute for yourself and mix up a tall, cool “Black Friday Survivor.” You’re worth it!
The Black Friday Survivor
2 oz vanilla-cinnamon infused bourbon
5 oz cranberry/pomegranate juice
1.2 oz spiced simple syrup
shake and serve over ice; top off with club soda and garnish with cinnamon stick
Vanilla-cinnamon infused bourbon
8 oz of bourbon
one stick of cinnamon
one inch cut of vanilla bean
Pour bourbon into a glass container and add the cinnamon stick and vanilla bean. Seal and allow to infuse for a minimum of four days.
Spiced Simple Syrup
one cup sugar
one cup water
few pieces of orange rind
dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, ground cloves
Place all ingredients in sauce pan and bring to a boil. Simmer until mixture thickens. Cool then place in airtight container.
